Church Ministry Solutions - Is This a Waste of Time?
Do you feel like you are wasting your time?
Handing out tracts is a waste of time! Really?
How many tracts have you given out that are just thrown away? We can get frustrated and discouraged when people don't even seem to care about their own needs. What do you do? Quit? No! Look for unique ways to get the Gospel out. Pray, that people would be receptive to your kind gesture.
Before I was saved, I gave about every excuse in the world to reject Christian's pleas for me to trust in Christ. People don't understand their needs, and they will try to find reasons to push you away. We know their thought processes because we have been there ourselves. Don't let them stop you from witnessing to them. We need to share the message of the Blessed Hope, whom we know and trust.
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. Titus 2:12-13
Be faithful, share these tracts with others; you never know what impact they might have on someone. Or, for that matter, to a person who may find a discarded tract.
A TESTIMONY OF PRAISE
An older daughter flew down to Florida to spend some quality time with her aging father. He loved going to Publix for his grocery shopping; who can blame him? While the daughter was reading some grocery store labels to purchase the best product for her dad, he walked away. When the daughter realized that he had wandered off, she panicked. You see, he had early stages of dementia and shouldn't be left on his own.
Frantically, she went up and down the aisles, searching for him, but couldn't find him. After a bit, she broke out into tears, realizing he was lost. She finally saw him by the exit, looking at an abundance of sale items on an endcap. She didn't want her dad to see her frustration and fear, so she gained her composure, walked up to him, took him firmly by the arm, and finished the shopping.
As she walked him out to the car, she was beside herself, not knowing what to do. After she got him into the car, tears started to well up in her eyes again. She literally asked out loud, "What can I do?" As she walked around the car, she noticed something lying on the ground. She could tell from its worn appearance that this card had been run over several times by others. But, it didn't matter; she bent over and picked it up. To her amazement, the little card answered the need she had and quickly realized that everything was going to be okay. She stuck it into her purse to show her husband when she got back home in New York. The couple placed the card on a bedroom bureau so that they could be reminded daily of God's love and care. When they looked at it, it gave them peace.
You see, someone had given a person one of our cards, and evidently, that person must have just thrown it away in the parking lot. The card was there on the ground, by divine proclamation, to meet the needs of this New York/Florida family. So, don't get discouraged, even when you see that the original card recipient just threw it away. You never know who might come along and be blessed by the discarded tract.
Months later, the husband was going to a men's retreat in New York and ordered a few dozen cards, like the one his wife found. As he had the opportunity to share their family's testimony, he would give each man a card. So, they too could be reminded of God's care and provision.

Giving out tracts isn't a waste of time. You aren't a waste of our time either. Perhaps you also have a need and don't know where to turn. Maybe this card will help you, as it did this family during their time of despair. God wants to meet your needs. He wants to give you peace. All you have to do is ask.
