We continue to move forward ... with your prayer support!!
We mentioned last month that we dropped our old website provider, WEB.COM, after being with them for fifteen years. At the beginning of 2023, they changed their services. I don't mind change. But the main thing that irritated me was that they dropped our old toll-free phone number. Over the last fifteen years, that number was listed on millions of tracts and published books. Losing just this simple listed phone number meant people couldn't contact us for their needs. They gave us no warning and no help in resolving the issue after we made eight attempts with live customer service people; there was no follow-up on their end. They couldn't tell me who the carrier was for our service. The word incompetence comes to mind.
I went to Verizon three times and talked with their service techs. They made calls to upper management...with no success. My brother-in-law, who is a phone specialist for the state of Florida, was a tremendous help. He did find out that I was the owner of the number, but we couldn't find out who the true carrier was.
The answer to my dilemma came when I Googled, "purchase my cell phone number, 888.720.0950". There were several options, but NUMBERBARN.com caught my attention. Talking with a live support person, I had to prove that I owned the number. I told him how to look that information up. Then, I had to prove that I was paying for the service in the past and who the provider was. WEB.COM never gave me a monthly bill explaining our services (again, they were no help). The only way I could show proof of ownership was to send him to my old website, where he could see the number listed.
We still didn't have the provider's name and the all-important port number to which my number was assigned. He went to work with what little information he had in hand, which wasn't much. Two days later, on August 11, I had my old phone number! SUCCESS!!! Praise the Lord for providing the bits and pieces of information over the last few months to bring this puzzle to a close. You might wonder what the fee was for their service. It was only $5.
Again, Praise the Lord for another huge 2023 frustration to be taken away. In just three days (of this writing, August 14), we assisted several new people who required our help by calling the original toll-free number. Otherwise, they may have never been able to talk with us.
When people call our ministry number, 888.720.0950, their call gets forwarded to my cell phone. If, for some reason, I don't answer, Numberbarn sends me an email with the caller's phone number, the date and time they called, the length of their message, plus the voice message itself is attached so I can listen to the reason for their call. Now, that is a competent service for just $6.00 a month.
Solutions to Serve the Savior are now just a phone call away!

... every person with a printing project. We critique each job and always look for ways we can improve their print projects. If we find an issue, we will correct the customer's print project rather than return it (if possible). We make sure each print job is the right size (if the print goes to the edge, we make sure they added .125 inches, making a 4 x 6 job, 4.125 x 6.125) for bleed; move text when it is too close to the edge; and we change files if they were not submitted as RGB, instead of CMYK. The list of technical help goes on to ensure that each customer receives the best print job possible. We invest much time and effort into this and don't charge extra. Why? Because it is part of our ministry.

To the inquisitive and indifferent mind, gathering information results from our Creator’s magnificent design. “Knowledge,” data collection—truthful or not—is enhanced simply by living. A writer’s work is created using accumulated knowledge. Exhibition of the resultant accumulation is indicative of one’s relationship with one’s Creator—God.
In 2005, a small collaborative project led to the publication of three tracts on biblical principles relating to money. They were The Ministry of Tithing, The Ministry of Giving, and The Ministry of Lending. In 2016, an additional tract was written entitled The Ministry of Almsgiving.
The Lord placed numerous roadblocks in the path of my resolute publication efforts. While pursuing the publication of the last tract and a reprint of the three originals, there grew a consideration for a book—an extensive revision/expansion of the four tracts. During these research efforts, I discovered the magnificent biblical precept of Grace Giving.
- While tithing is biblical, it is not Christian. Under the Law, this was strictly a practice for the nation of Israel, which Jesus Christ fulfilled in the New Covenant of Grace. Furthermore, there is no instruction or example of a New Testament Christian tithing. Like temples, sacrifices, dietary laws, and priests, tithing has been nailed to the cross.” More on this subject is to be found in the Grace Giving section.

- Labor Day, September 4 – Which Little Message tract did you hand out to commemorate this day in our national history?
- September 11 is Patriot Day, held in honor and remembrance of those who died in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. September 11 is also Grandparents Day this year.
- September 28 is National Good Neighbor Day. It is a blessing to have a good neighbor, but it is an even greater thing to BE a good neighbor. Your neighbors watch you getting into your car dressed for church all the time. They must believe this is a very special event in your life. True, it is! When was the last time you invited them to go with you? Simply put, neighbors can develop into lifelong, even eternal friendships.

HOPE FOR BRAZIL MINISTRIES – "The Ice Boat Ministry"
On Saturday, August 26, our ministry team in Manaus hosted a Baptismal Service. Several who have made decisions for Christ through the Soup Outreach, our Meals for Children ministry, and the Bible & Ball night have been discipled and are ready to take the next step in their faith by being baptized.
This past weekend our team in Santarem set out for the August Convoy of Hope event to the village of Muru Murutuba, where they ministered to about 80 people. Join us in giving thanks for the 16 individuals who prayed to receive Christ as their personal Savior and the many who were helped and encouraged through the team's efforts!
SEA HOPE
Puerto Rico: We busied ourselves getting SEA HOPE ready for one of our most ambitious trips yet. The trip centered around carrying a 9-person team from Medical Missions Outreach and 11 crew members, six of whom were on their first trip aboard SEA HOPE. In addition, we carried around 17,000 pounds of food, about 2,000 pounds of hospital supplies, and 250 folding chairs. While in port, we also replaced about 20 missing boards on the pier. The medical team saw 815 patients, and 70 salvation decisions were made. We praise the Lord for those who met the Great Physician. As the medical team prepared to depart the ship, MMO Missions Director Robbie Ellis stated, "We started as two different teams but ended up as one serving together for the cause of Christ.” All I can say is Hallelujah, Praise the Lord.
BECA PAPE: Second-Generation Missionary
Beca has reached 77% support this month! It is so exciting watching God move and answer her prayers! She is currently planning on leaving for the field in January of 2024. She was pushing for November, but the timing is looking better for January, and she has decided it would be wiser to wait. Please continue to pray for her as she wraps up her deputation journey!
By the time you read this, Beca will be in Brazil preparing for her departure in January. She will spend time in Canada when she returns, hoping to raise further financial and prayer support.
